It is a port city in Russia, situated in East Siberia on the Lena River. Yakutsk has below-freezing temperatures for around seven months of the year, with the Winter season starting in October and lasting till April. As of February 2024, the average temperature of the city is recorded to be -36.1 °C with regular snowfall. The lowest ever recorded in Yakutsk was -64.4 °C on 5 February 1891.
