7. Iran
Iran developed its tea industry from the influence of India; tea replaced coffee as a most favorite beverage in 1900s, as the Iranians started to produce their own blend. Since it came to the country from India, it was considered as a luxury until common people started consuming it. Today, around 164,000 tons of tea is produced in Iran every year, and a big percentage is exported.
