Cheetahs, leopards and lions call this beautiful place home although they will be hard to spot. 8. Lake Nakuru
This spot is known for its unique feature, and I’m not talking about the lake. The huge lake is just the meeting place for thousands and thousands of pink flamingos to gather and it is said to be one of the most magnificent displays of birdlife in the world.

Maybe you want to get a peek at the neighbor? Well, it’s pretty hard to miss. Tanzania is just over the way from this park, and the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro will be in the distance of many of your wildlife sightings at this park. The most sought after sighting? The free-ranging elephants that gracefully roam these parts.
6. Lamu Island
Maybe a stunning island isn’t the first thing that pops into your hand, but behold…Lamu Island! This island isn’t tainted by too much tourism and has a certain charm hard to find on the mainland. This is the largest national park in the country, and one of the largest in the world! Volcanic landscapes sweep through the west and the desert terrain takes over in the east, yes, it’s that big. But here, it’s just you and the wildness, so be at peace and keep those eyes peeled for animals.

4. Mount Kenya
Before you is the tallest mountain in Kenya, and the second on the continent. Impressive, rugged, snowcapped, and simply breathtaking are just a few words to describe this magnificent view. This, over a 5,000-meter climb, is not for the faint of heart. If you still want to climb and aren’t the most fit, there are a few other climbs that are a bit easier.

3. Nairobi National Park
A spectacular sight can be seen here, wildlife beyond your imagination scampers around here. It’s even more incredible that you can see the city of Nairobi in the distance with its concrete jungle streaming through the horizon. As you immerse yourself in the park you may see herds of wildebeest and zebra’s migrating or perhaps a family of giraffes nibbling on a tree.

2. Samburu National Reserve
More wildlife? Not enough yet? Alright, well, this park has the Uaso Nyiro River running through it which means tons of interesting wild animals clammer around the refreshing water. Nile crocs run the waters here though they must share it with the hippos, buffalo and elephants that can be found roaming around. You might even get lucky enough to see a cheetah or leopard.
