Some of the states demand the certification for phlebotomists, that rank second in our list of best paying summer jobs for nursing students, while most of them will just accept the fact you have a nursing high school experience and that you are a nursing student. Basically, your job may be simple drawing blood from your patients, and later delivering it to local laboratories for testing. That’s it! You don’t need to deal with the test results, since you are not expected to have deep knowledge about it. What you need to be aware of is that you will probably work with numerous patients, including babies and old people, so you need to be communicative and positive, since this is not always a pleasant experience. Good organizational skills are a plus, since you will deal with identifying patients and labeling vials.
